Last night at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, Foehn celebrated with its charity client Anchor House who won The Charity Times Award 2009 for The Best Use of Technology.
Anchor House, a centre for the homeless and workless, set up an ambitious plan to transform itself from a basic homeless hostel to a centre that helps residents develop their aspirations, confidence and self-esteem and move them towards leading independent self-fulfilling lives.
Following Anchor House's vision, Foehn was chosen to design and implement an IT system that would bring new and next generation technology to the centre. From electronic key systems on residents' doors, an interactive training centre, new phone and media systems in each room, Foehn made use of many technologies in order to provide as much as possible within the charity's budget.
Keith Fernett, the Director of Anchor House, who picked up the award, commented that this marked the culmination of 3 years worth of hard work and was a significant moment for Anchor House, punching well above its weight in a very competitive list of UK finalists.
Well done Anchor House!
