Foehn Deploys Asterisk in National Charity Posted 15 January 2010

Foehn was selected by Scope, the disability organisation for England and Wales, to deploy a proof-of-concept for an Asterisk-based telephony system.

Foehn has deployed Asterisk, made by Digium the market-leader in open source telephony. During the trial, it hopes to demonstrate the potential to improve Scope's internal IT helpdesk functions and integrate with their system management applications.

Scope employs 3,500 permanent staff nationwide including a large proportion of call-centre staff.

With previous experience of integrating Asterisk successfully into organisations James Passingham, Technical Director at Foehn, is optimistic about the benefits for the charity;

"We believe that Asterisk will improve Scope's operational capabilities and significantly reduce their phone system related maintenance costs."
