wildernschool Foehn Enhances Communications at Wildern School with Switchvox

London England- 31st August 2010

Wildern School is a co-educational comprehensive for young people aged 11 to 16, based in Southampton. Specialising in performing arts, it has been consistently rated as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.

The school chose to replace its phone system with Switchvox as the system offered an affordable set of useful features, and with its open API, the ability for the school to integrate it with its own CRM system.

The IT team at Wildern School have developed their own custom comprehensive CRM system to hold required details about its pupils. This had been carefully designed to store information such as courses chosen, absence records, next of kin contacts and timetables in a meaningful way.

Tim Dalton - part of the IT team at Wildern School explains;

"By choosing Switchvox, we can integrate the phone system with our bespoke 'School CRM' system. The Switchvox system is able to recognise the incoming number and then the corresponding CRM record will pop up on screen so reception and school staff can deal with the call much more efficiently. This will be especially useful in the mornings when we often receive an influx of pupils' parents calling in regarding absences."

Another useful feature of Switchvox was the ability for both the IT team and other staff to make quick changes to the IVR settings. For the school, daily communications to a large volume of pupils, staff and parents is a challenge and being able to update information or add new IVR options through an easy to use interface helps with this.

Wildern School chose Foehn to carry out its installation because of our experience with both Switchvox and Asterisk.
