Hybrid Cloud Enablement

“The Cloud” is the name given to a combination of servers and/or services provided within a network. Historically drawn to denote the complexity and reach of the global telephony network, The Cloud has been updated and adopted by IP networks and service providers.

However there are 4 distinct deployment models of ‘Clouds’:

Offered by public service providers a Public Cloud providesa network connected service with the greatest economy of scale with no maintenance cost or capital deployed. However scale dictates that there is a degree of uniformity that does not always allow a company to deploy tailored solutions and can provide a degree of uncertainty for the storage of highly sensitive information. Indeed the location independent nature of storage and server devices, may even transgress some national laws on the export of information beyond national boundaries.

Dedicated to your business, a Private Cloud offers none of the scale economies of a public service but will sit within your own security protected domain.Private clouds have the benefit of being built to service the needs to the business, but this comes at a cost.

Managed by a third party, a Hosted Cloud allows a degree of resource sharing but enables the application of the company’s security policies etc…

Services maybe provided to companies that have similar requirements, for example 'LegalNet'. This enables some scale economies to be derived, but because of the commonality of customers the policies can be be tailored to more closely match the needs of the community.

At Foehn we have over a decade of experience designing, deploying and managing network solutions. As companies further seek to maximise the return on capital, the importance of network design and application of appropriate policies are paramount to ensure performance and security are not compromised whether a service is single or multi-tenanted, on or off-premises.

The top 5 considerations in the architecting of your Cloud environment are:

  1. Ease of migration
  2. Qualty Assurance
  3. Security and control of customer and company confidential data
  4. Cost justification
  5. Contract terms

In the current economic conditions business demands greater agility, faster time to market, more reliable service provision, and a greater return on investment. Foehn delivers Cloud solutions that leverage the security and control that comes from High Performance Dedicating Computing and the scalability and availability of the public Cloud ensuring availability, diversity, performance optimisation and security.Contact-us-module-in-article_02
