What is Asterisk?
Asterisk is the world’s leading open source telephony platform. Asterisk is a software product that can turn a general purpose computer into a sophisticated VoIP communications server.
Asterisk is used by companies of all sizes to enhance their communication, including, Google, IBM even the US Army.
Open Source PBXs now account for 18% of the installed PBXs worldwide (according to the Eastern Management Group) and Asterisk is the market leading open source VoIP PBX.
Launched 10 years ago and constantly developed by the open source community, Asterisk has become one of the most feature rich, scalable, sophisticated communication servers available today. Implemented as an on premises business phone system, or as a hosted pbx, Asterisk remains free to download and comes fully featured with no licencing restrictions. Asterisk can run on Linux, BSD, OS X and Windows, and will work with most SIP compliant handsets and softphones. All you need is the technical know-how to install and configure.
That’s where Foehn can help.

What is Digium?
Digium is a commercial organisation that coordinates the open source community that contributes to the development of Asterisk.
Recognising that some companies would rather source a hardware and software solution, Digium market Switchvox, a purpose built implementation of Asterisk. All you need is the technical know-how to install and configure.
That’s where Foehn can help.
We have implemented Asterisk systems for nearly 10 years. We are the UK Select Partner for Digium and have deployed both Asterisk and Switchvox systems in many organisations. Asterisk has the potential to transform the way a company engages its customers and can significantly reduce operating costs.
Foehn has the experience to realise that potential.
